How do you determine the trade-in value for a vehicle?
Each trade-in is appraised differently based on various criteria, such as year, condition and current market value. You can also visit our web site and click on Kelly Blue Book and/or Blackbook, which will give you an independant approximate trade in value based on your answers to the questionnaire.
If you do not have the vehicle I want on the lot, can you locate and how long does it usually take?
McKaig can usually locate a vehicle within Hours through a network of other dealerships or we can offer a comparable vehicle that we have available.
Can I order a particular vehicle to fit my specifications?
You may place an order through us for a vehicle we do not have in stock.
SERVICE
If I purchased my vehicle from another dealership, can you still service my vehicle?
Absolutely. As an authorized dealer for each of our brands, we will service vehicles for customers who did not purchase from us. Many of our customers purchased New or Used vehicles after coming to our legendary Service Department. We "promise" to make you feel like a customer!
How do I get e-mail notifications regarding my vehicle?
This information is delivered from On-Star service and is part of your subscription. Not only can you receive information regarding your vehicle via e-mail, but if you choose, McKaig will also receive the same e-mail and will call to schedule an appointment if needed. If you want to change to McKaig as your preferred dealership, please advise our service manager and he will guide you through the process.
How can I determine when my vehicle is due for its next service?
We can determine this through your service history records and based on your mileage usage. We will notify you via service letters periodically. You should also enroll in the ON STAR Diagnostics and select McKaig as your Preferred Dealer. You will then receive monthly E-mails regarding your vehicle and we will be notified of any service needs or issues that need attention.

Does McKaig provide loaners?
We do provide loaners at McKaig; however, due to the limited number available, we ask that you discuss this with the service manager when scheduling your visit. If no loaner is available, we do provide transportation.
FINANCE
What is the amount of Tax, Title and License?
The tax rate in the state of Texas is 6.25%. The tax is calculated on the sale price of the car less any non-leased trade-in. The title fee is $33.00 and the registration fees vary based on the car’s model year.
When will my first payment be due?
The first payment will be due 30 to 45 days after signing. On a lease, you will make your first payment at the time of signing.
What is the maximum timeframe that I can finance a vehicle?
Depending on year model, it can vary up to 84 months.
Do you have a first-time buyer program?
Most of our lenders have a college graduate program. Some stipulations will apply. You could also qualify for preferred finance rates.
Do you offer extended service agreements?
Yes; however, length and miles will vary between new and pre-owned vehicles. We offer not only GM extended warranty’s but GE as well.
What is the calculation for determining how much payment I can afford?
A good “rule of thumb” is to use 20% of your gross monthly income.
Do I have to pay property tax on a lease?
If the vehicle is registered in a company name, you will be billed property tax. If the vehicle is for personal use, you can file an affidavit of non-income-producing purposes with the state. However, each city may still charge the individual.
What is GAP insurance?
As you probably know, the value your primary insurances places on your vehicle may be substantially less than the amount you actually owe. GAP insurance will pay the difference between what you owe and the value the insurance company determines your car is worth IF your car is declared a total loss or stolen.

Can I purchase Disability insurance on my vehicle?
Yes, you can buy disability insurance on yourself or your spouse.
How can I purchase or inquire about an extended warranty?
You may talk to our F&I Department, any salesperson or service adviser in the dealership to purchase or inquire. You may purchase your extended warranty at time of sale or sometime before the original warranty expires.
How does my credit rating affect the purchase of a vehicle?
Our F&I department will provide a proper assessment of your credit. We will also work with your lending firm for proper information.
